I taught children english, maths and art in Kolkata, India for 3 months. Suas provide a module called Global Perspectives where a global issue was discussed in our teams every week to raise our awareness every week while living in Kolkata, India. I found this module extremely eye-opening. Working with these children and meeting the people who ran these organizations was truly a life-changing experience and inspiring. This experience motivated me to do a degree in Education at University. I volunteered with other organisation over there such as the Mother Theresa Foundations, St Vincents and Sabuj Shanga. Once this programme was finished I began to volunteer as a recruitment officer in universities across Ireland (NUIG, UL, NCAD) for new volunteers to participate in the programme. "If we want to reach real peace in this world, we should start educating the children" Mahatma Ghandi.
